Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should be confidently using a range of ceramic forming processes to interpret their designs; have extended their knowledge of ceramic surface treatments and firing processes; have a broad understanding of historical and contemporary issues in ceramics; have an emerging ability to critically assess their own work, technically and aesthetically; have made creative links between ceramics and their major study; clearly understand health and safety procedures in the ceramics studio.
Synopsis This subject continues to build on the structures developed in first semester for students majoring in another area. Technical and conceptual skills developed in this medium will provide a useful and creative cross-fertilisation with the student's major area of study. Teaching is by a combination of individual and group tuition.
