Emergency care, preventive care and consultation is provided to the students and staff of the university. Doctors are in attendance at Caulfield and Clayton campuses, but hours of availability may vary. Nurses are in attendance for consultation and advice, and on some campuses for emergency care and treatment also. Patients are bulk billed and a valid Medicare Card, or Medibank membership number for international students, must be produced at each visit to a doctor.

Some campuses also have dental, dietary, massage, naturopathy, optometry and physiotherapy services. Some of these services are free: for others there is a small charge.

Gippsland campus does not have these types of services on-campus. Students and staff should inquire at Community Services (telephone (051) 22 6425), or the Churchill Community Health Centre (telephone (051) 22 1400).

Parkville campus has a twenty-four-hour medical clinic nearby.

Berwick students will be provided with listings of medical services in the area.
