Sample surveys

4 points * Second semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: MAT2020, MAS2011, MAS2032

Objectives On the completion of this subject students will know the various types of sample survey (eg stratified sampling, cluster sampling); understand the theory underlying sampling; know the practical advantages and disadvantages of different sampling strategies.

Synopsis Sampling designs: simple random, systematic, stratified, one-stage cluster sampling designs; ratio and regression estimation. Practical aspects.

Assessment Examinations (1.5 hours): 85% * Tests and/or assignments: 15%
