Discipline objectives

The study of immunology will provide students with an understanding of:

The discipline

The Department of Pathology and Immunology offers at third-year level two subjects (IMM3011 and IMM3022) for BSc and BSc (Biomedical) and an honours subject, IMM4000. A course for the Diploma in Immunology is also available to graduates and is described in the handbook for the Faculty of Medicine. Immunology IMM3011 and IMM3022 may be taken in conjunction with a number of third-year subjects: MIC3011 and MIC3022 (Microbiology), BIO3011 and BIO3022 (Biochemistry) and GEN3011 and GEN3022 (Genetics) are particularly suitable.

The department is located at the Monash Medical School, Alfred Hospital, Prahran, where part of the teaching takes place.
