Objectives On completion of the subject, students are expected to be able to respect the cultural values, beliefs and practices of all groups within the community; explore the role of the nurse in transcultural psychiatry and transcultural psychiatric nursing; discuss culturally determined attitudes towards the care and treatment of people who have mental disorders; ensure the maintenance of consumers' cultural integrity in all aspects of metal health care.
