Objectives On completion of the subject, students are expected to be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the theoretical foundations of psychogeriatric nursing; manage a variety of predictable and complex problems in the disturbed elderly person; discuss treatment modalities tailored for the elderly; be cognisant of the needs of family and other informal carers.
