Objectives On completion of this subject students are expected to assess the health education needs of an individual or group in a variety of settings; identify physical, developmental and psychosocial factors that influence learning and teaching; compare and contrast the characteristics of the young and adult learner; describe effective and creative clinical teaching methods and strategies which are appropriate for working with clients and professionals; plan, implement and evaluate a teaching program for an individual, group or community; demonstrate an ability to use instructional media for health education; demonstrate participatory strategies for workshop and other interactive teaching/learning appropriate to teaching in clinical practice
Synopsis Introduces students to the principles and methods of learning and teaching appropriate for professional nursing practice.
Assessment Written assignment: 60% * Presentation of health education program 20% * Documentation of health education program: 20%
