Medical demography

1 hour 45 minutes per week over 14 weeks
* Second semester

Synopsis This subject will concentrate on methodology in the first seven weeks and in the second seven weeks show how these methods may be applied to practical problems in reproduction epidemiology. The topics to be covered include population trends and policies, population dynamics, the sociology of fertility, the consequences of population growth, formal demography, analysis of vital statistics, design and analysis of investigations of fertility and birth control, collection and analysis of demographic data on underdeveloped countries, populations projection, epidemiological concepts and methods, data analysis with computers, reproductive physiology and fertility regulation, organisation and administration of family planning programs and evaluation of family planning services.
