Objectives The student is expected to acquire a basic knowledge and understanding of the structure, properties and processing of thermoplastics, thermosets and composites used in high performance applications.
Synopsis Structure of high temperature thermoplastics and thermosets; amorphous and semi-crystalline thermoplastics; thermal and mechanical properties; fibre impregnation and product forms; processing of thermoplastic and thermoset composites; composite mechanical properties; environmental resistance; toughness; demanding applications.
