Objectives The student is expected to acquire a basic knowledge of Z80 assembly language programming and the typical structure and components of a Z80 microcomputer system.
Synopsis Introduction to microcomputers and microprocessors using the Z80. General review of the internal architecture of a microprocessor. Programmers model with reference to the logic unit, registers, and addressing modes. Detailed review of the Z80 instruction set and PC-based development system. Introduction to structured assembly language programs, including the development of application programs and programming of both serial and parallel I/O devices.
