Objectives The aim of this subject is to design productive systems from a strategic re-engineering perspective, incorporating all functions of a modern enterprise.

Synopsis Strategic design of productive systems. Productive systems models and assumptions. Corporate advantage: SWOT analysis, generic competitive strategies. Marketing, market segmentation, product lifecycle, portfolio analysis, marketing mix. Manufacturing; processes technology, product process match, process configuration. Quality designs, lead time and value adding operations design. Human resources, categories, resources. Innovation, production, process sources. Financial structures, growth limits, capital investment, cost-benefit analysis. Performance appraisal; overall technical and financial performance of productive systems.

Assessment Examination: 50% * Coursework: 50%
