Objectives To develop an understanding of the construction and installation process, of the criteria leading to the choice of structure at a site, of the design methodology for members and joints, of fatigue analysis and of load cases to consider during installation and in service. To develop some of the necessary design skills and competence with software.
Synopsis Development and functions of the steel jacket. Installation and transportation, foundation removal. Design of tubulars and connections, fatigue analysis and design, durability, damaged tubulars, maintenance and inspection.
Assessment Examination (3 hours): 50% * Assignments and seminars: 50%
