Objectives To develop skill in the design of all types of hydraulic structure used in free surface and conduit flow and an understanding of the social and environmental effects of such structures.
Synopsis Overflow spillways; intake structures; side channel spillways; labyrinth weirs; flow measurement structures; gate structures; energy dissipation; irrigation structures; hydraulic models; channel transitions; unsteady pipeflow; flood control structures; intake structures.
Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 70% * Practical work: 30%
