Advanced issues in system design

Objectives Students should have an appreciation of diverse approaches to information systems design, the context in which they are applicable, as well as limitations of these approaches. The seminar provides an historical and critical perspective of system design practice with the aim of investigating how design practice in information systems can be improved.

Synopsis Investigates in considerable depth one or more areas of current interest in system design.The seminar will focus on the interplay between technology and design. The role of information systems design will be discussed within an organisational context and will include a critical evaluation and comparison of approaches to change management and how design impacts on people and the organisation using the system.
