Object-oriented analysis

Objectives At the completion of this subject students should know fundamental concepts relevant to the object-oriented approach to systems analysis, and techniques and modelling notations used in object-oriented analysis; understand abstraction principles relevant to object-oriented analysis; be able to apply object and dynamic modelling techniques in the analysis of information systems; and appreciate the applicability and limitation of object-oriented analysis techniques.

Synopsis This subject provides students with an understanding of the object-oriented approach to systems analysis. Topics include object-oriented concepts; abstraction and modelling for object-oriented analysis; object modelling; dynamic modelling; object communication models; model integration; object-oriented analysis methodologies.

Assessment Examination: 60%
* Practical work: 40%
