Prerequisites: SFT3021 or equivalent.
Objectives At the completion of this subject students should be able to apply the principles and models in the specification and design of software systems; know the process of refining specifications into code; and be able to use CASE tools and supported methods.
Synopsis This subject introduces a number of concepts a systems engineer needs for modelling systems. It presents a number of mathematically-based textual notations as well as commercial CASE Tools and supported methods for modelling and analysing software systems. It examines how to move from a high-level specification to implemented code.
