The Graduate Diploma in Information Systems is offered by the Department of Information Systems. It provides specialised and directed study in contemporary techniques, methods and technologies in information systems to computing professionals.
The aim of the Graduate Certificate in Information Systems is to provide graduate students with the knowledge. Skills and attitudes essential to the appropriate application of information technology to support the information needs of business.
Applicants should hold a bachelors degree with a major in computing or information systems, eg a Bachelor of Computing from Monash University or equivalent qualifications. Consideration will be given to an applicant who has relevant professional qualifications and experience (normally, at least seven years) and is occupying a senior position in industry. The percentage of entry from the last category will be no larger than 25 per cent.
In 1997 the course fee is $4000 or $1000 per subject.
The Graduate Certificate in Information Systems comprises twentyy-four credit points of study taken over one year full-time or two years part-time comprising:
