Management accounting

Objectives On completion of this subject students will be able to integrate the behavioural and quantitative aspects of internal information systems for management planning, control and decision making.

Synopsis Topics covered will include consideration of the role of the accounting system in an integrated management information system; cost data appropriate for decision models; special problems in analysing recurring activities including the measurement of departmental and divisional performance; decision models under conditions of uncertainty. A significant part of the subject will be concerned with experimental design and the evaluation of empirical studies of judgment and decisions.
