Objectives On completion of this subject students should understand how the management of the industrial relationship is integrated and interacts with organisational strategy and the factors influencing successful strategic people management.
Synopsis The subject is designed to provide students with an appreciation of the importance of industrial relations in the management of organisations-including private and public sector enterprises, and trade unions. The approach used is to require students to consider the various strategic responses available to parties to industrial relations through a series of case studies specially designed to test the relevant problems.
Assessment Written (assignments 4000 words): 40%
