Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able to carry out basic surveying tasks and develop contouring and levelling plans; select an appropriate irrigation system for specified uses; understand the engineering properties of soils; understand the application of design principles to agricultural buildings and structures.
Synopsis Surveying, design and installation of irrigation systems, engineering properties of soils, agricultural structures, environmental modification, acids, bases and buffers, redox systems, agricultural chemicals.
Assessment Short tests: 50%
* Examination (4 hours): 50%
