Human resource management issues

Objectives On completion of this subject students should have an appreciation of the conceptual framework for human resource management (HRM); an understanding of current issues impacting on HRM in Australian organisations; and be able to identify and design policies and practices likely to minimise the negative and maximise the positive aspects of these issues.

Synopsis Topics covered will alter as current issues change. Representative issues include implications of social and demographic changes in HRM; the role of HRM in continuous improvement programs; workplace flexibility; HRM in global enterprises.

Assessment Syndicate work (4000 words): 35%
* Individual work (3000 words): 50%
* Class work: 15%
