Strategic management for international trade

* Prerequisites: Students should be in the final year of Bachelor of Business (International Trade)

Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able to analyse and evaluate business policy as it affects international operations; demonstrate how to formulate strategic plans for the international environment; utilise a strategic planning framework and apply this to strategy implementation and evaluation.

Synopsis The internationalisation process of organisations; the environmental impact on strategic planning; the planning process; global structures and their evolution; corporate controls for global corporations; strategic forms of foreign operations; the globalisation of markets; and strategic management of foreign operations.

Assessment Written individual assignment (2000 words): 30%
* Group assignment (4000 words): 30%
* Examination (2 hours): 40%
