Objectives On completion of this subject students should have an understanding of the procedures and practices necessary for effective business meetings; demonstrate a knowledge of the law of meetings in Australia; understand the process of decision making at meetings; be able to identify a range of factors which contribute to effective and rational decision making.
Synopsis The current law, practice and procedures of meetings in Australia; the roles and responsibilities of meeting participants, particularly the chairperson; meeting documentation; planning and conducting efficient, effective meetings. Effective, rational decision making, with the emphasis on achieving group decision making.
Assessment Written individual assignments: 40%
