Information policies and infrastructures

Objectives At the completion of this subject students should understand global and Australian information policies and infrastructures; know about issues associated with global and national information policies and infrastructures, in particular those related to new information and communication technologies; and be able to develop strategic information plans.

Synopsis This subject will provide an understanding of information policies and infrastructures at global and national levels. It will convey a general awareness of information policy and infrastructure issues, particularly issues associated with new information and communication technologies. The subject will also provide a general knowledge of information policy and infrastructure development within organisations in the context of global and national developments and with reference to relevant industry and business sector standards. It will introduce students to the multiplicity of factors that affect the development of information policy and infrastructure in particular business contexts. The subject will provide students with strategic information-planning skills and techniques.

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 50% * Project work: 50%
