Objectives On successful completion of this subject students should have developed a sociological analysis of contemporary health and health related issues; and contribute to public debate on these issues.
Synopsis This subject is designed to give students a comparative view of health care systems, as well as emphasising that health and illness are more the result of social processes than biological ones. A variety of health issues are examined to illustrate different sociological perspectives.
