Social work perspectives on human development I

Objectives Students undertaking this subject should develop an understanding of what constitutes a life span approach to human development; knowledge of the specific development tasks that confront individuals throughout the lifespan and an understanding of the impact of gender, class and culture on individual development.

Synopsis Explores a life span approach to human development with particular emphasis on life stage transitions and the implications for social work practice.

Assessment One written assignment (1500 words): 60%
* Class test: 40%
* Students are required to pass both assignments to pass the subject overall.
