Prerequisites: RUS1070/1080 or equivalent
Objectives On completing this subject and RUS2260 students should be able to communicate in Russian in speech and writing at near-native level; be able to translate literary texts from and into Russian, with equal fluency in both English and Russian; have acquired an understanding of selected writings of the most prominent Russian literary figures of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and an appreciation of the cultural and intellectual background of Russian literature.
Synopsis Topics in advanced grammar, word-formation and composition, work with Russian texts (including those of literary works), and conversation. The emphasis is on the active use of Russian, both spoken and written, with a high degree of fluency.
Assessment Written: 20%
