Objectives Upon the successful completion of this subject students are expected to be familiar with key theoretical approaches to the study of form and function in syntax and appreciate the major strengths and weaknesses of these approaches in terms of their generality cross-linguistically.
Synopsis This subject is a comparative study of current approaches to form and function in syntax.
Assessment second year Written assignment (3000 words): 50%
