Prerequisites: PHL4900 or permission of head
Objectives Students successfully completing this subject will have a thorough understanding of a number of recent problems in philosophy. The exact nature of the problems addressed will vary from year to year; but in all cases, students should find themselves in a position to follow debates through articles in scholarly journals, and to contribute to those debates themselves.
Synopsis As with PHL4900 this subject will further explore current issues and contemporary writings within analytical philosophy. A reading list may be obtained from the department.
Assessment Written (6000 words): 100%
* Option of a 3000-word essay
and a 3-hour examination
