Objectives To develop the students' skills in the application and interpretation of a range of inferential statistics procedures.
Synopsis A subject in inferential statistics. Topics covered include single and two-sample inference on means, variances and proportions; contingency table analysis; goodness-of-fit; correlation and regression; rank methods; applications are emphasised and are chosen from areas of interest to arts students. Minitab is used where appropriate.
Assessment Examination (3 hours): 70%
* One assignment: 10%
