Modern Greek language IIA

Objectives Students are expected to demonstrate an understanding of the characteristic differences between oral and written language use, colloquial and learned idioms, and formal and informal language use. They are also expected to demonstrate the ability to change register to suit various contexts, and to use common colloquial and learned idioms in their written and spoken Greek.

Synopsis The subject aims to extend language skills to more formal levels, and to develop sensitivity to differences in style and register.

Assessment Examination (1.5 hours): 50%
* Language assignments and exercises, oral test: 50%
