Prerequisites: A pass in CHI3330
Objectives On completion of this subject students should have developed an understanding of the differences between written and spoken Chinese, the ability to read a selected range of authentic newspaper articles and an understanding of contemporary Chinese society and politics.
Synopsis Graded readings of original newspaper articles and other pieces of a topical nature.
Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 70%
