Advanced intermediate business Chinese, part 2

Objectives On completion of this subject students should further develop oral/aural and writing skills necessary to communicate in a range of business situations; further develop the ability to read vernacular texts and to read formal business language with the aid of a dictionary and acquire cultural knowledge to enhance understanding of the texts under study and the cultural sensitivity to communicate using appropriate levels of formality.

Synopsis Advanced intermediate level spoken and written modern standard Chinese; further study of formal written language relevant to the business context; readings on Chinese politics, philosophy and society. This subject continues the work covered in CBL3310.

Assessment Weekly homework: 20%
* Two examinations (each 2 hours )and tests: 50%
* Aural/oral tests: 30%
