Objectives and synopsis This is an off-campus equivalent of JPL1310 and the syllabus is the same as for that subject. Subject participation involves the completion of work at home based around a study guide and cassette and video tapes; submission of weekly written and taped assignments; and attendance at three Saturday workshops during the semester. Students are encouraged to enrol concurrently for JPS1070 (Sources of contemporary Japanese culture and society).
Assessment Mid-semester test (50 minutes): 15%
* Final examination
(2 hours): 30%
* Listening comprehension test: 15%
* Speaking test: 10%
* Weekly assignments and on-going assessment: 30%
