Objectives Students successfully completing this subject should be able to participate in conversations in defined social situations and to interact with Japanese in defined hospitality settings using simple Japanese; be able to use polite expressions in defined tourist industry settings and develop reading and writing skills of a minimum of 120 new kanji (in total 157) in a variety of contexts.
Synopsis This subject is designed to continue on from JBL1010. It aims to continue the development of basic communicative competence in spoken Japanese and the introduction of the Japanese writing system. An off-campus option is available (JPL1160).
