Availability of subjects in 1997

Some departments may not be able to offer in 1997 all subjects set out in their outline of studies. The decision will depend on student demand and the availability of staff. The availability of honours studies in anthropology, Asian languages and studies, classical history and culture, comparative literature and cultural studies, English, French, geography, German, history, Japanese, linguistics, music, philosophy, politics, Romance languages, sociology and visual arts is guaranteed, and honours may be offered in other disciplines or interdisciplinary programs subject to sufficient student demand and availability of staff. Similarly, it is not guaranteed that all major and minor sequences listed will be available. Students will be notified as early as possible of the withdrawal of any subject.

The following are lists of subjects prepared by the Faculty of Arts to assist students in designing their study programs in accordance with the requirements as set out in the BA regulations.

Subjects are listed in their respective disciplines which are arranged in alphabetical order. Only those subjects offered in 1997 are listed. Only some of the subjects a student may take while a candidate for the BA degree are found below; information about subjects likely to be offered in subsequent years is contained in the outline of studies.

Students should consult with a faculty adviser regarding the status of the subjects listed under `Applied statistics', `Behavioural studies' and `Psychology' before enrolling in any of these subjects.
