Objectives Students successfully completing this course will have thorough understanding of a number of issues in value theory, including issues in ethics, political philosophy, and philosophy of law. They will have a good understanding of both the meta-ethical and normative considerations relevant to these issues; and will be ready to take and defend a position for themselves.
Synopsis This is an advanced subject in contemporary value theory. Topics to be covered will include some of the following: meta ethics and applied ethics, political philosophy, social philosophy, philosophy of law, moral psychology and aesthetics. A reading list may be obtained from the department.
