Direct entry to part II
The MA part II may be undertaken by (a) coursework only, or (b) thesis
and coursework.
(a) Students entering the MA directly at part II level will normally complete:
- COM5001.12 Sources and methods
- COM5002.12 Communications and media history
- COM5004.12 Insight research project
plus one of the following core
subjects:
- ùCOM5003.12 The future of communications
- ùCOM5005.12 Communications and public policy
(b) With the
permission of the director of the centre, students may complete the MA part II
by research. Students will be required to take one compulsory subject:
- COM5002.08 Communications and media history
plus one of two core
subjects:
- COM5003.08 The future of communications
- COM5005.08 Communications and public policy
plus a thirty-two-point
thesis of 25,000-35,000 words.
