Prerequisites: VTM4110/5110
Objectives On the successful completion of this subject students should have developed further understanding of the Vietnamese language, acquired an expanded vocabulary and new syntactic structures, and at the same time, should be able to apply that acquired knowledge to communication in a limited range of social situations.
Synopsis This subject builds on the previous subject, VTM4110/5110. It deals with the question of tense, usage of conjunctions and more complex particles. The context of language use covers comparisons, directions, distances and modes of transport, the human body and basic health terms. Attention is devoted to the social and cultural context of language use.
