Objectives To have students acquire oral communication, reading and writing skills at higher and more formal level.

SynopsisIn this course, the use of a more formal language will be introduced appropriate to dealings with public and business services. Students will also develop skill of discussion, expression of agreement and disagreement in various current issues. The reading component explores different writing styles in articles from magazines, academic journals, newspapers. Writing will focus on expressing opinions related to reading topics.

Assessment Written examination (2 hours): 30%
* Oral examination: 30%
* Classwork: 10%
* Assignments: 30%
