A 75 per cent thesis of 35,000-40,000 words (thirty-six points), fulfilling three-quarters of the year's requirements may be undertaken in part II of the MA in Asian studies. This thesis will normally be examined by one internal and one external examiner. Its topic must be determined in consultation with its supervisor, who is to be selected in consultation with the executive officer, Monash Asia Institute.
