Objectives Through consultations with the subject coordinator and the supervisor students doing this subject will be able to tailor their own objectives. Those completing the research paper will have had the opportunity to deepen their research skills and to polish their techniques in making written presentations.
Synopsis This subject allows students to undertake research in a topic in Japanese studies under the guidance of a supervisor. The student must select the topic of the research paper in consultation with a supervisor before enrolling in the subject. The paper will be based on the student's own collection of data and will be completed within one semester. The paper will be written in English. Students working in the area of applied linguistics are advised to take JAL4610 (Research seminar in applied Japanese linguistics) before undertaking the research paper.
