Advanced Japanese linguistics

* Prerequisites: Completion of JAL4130 (Advanced studies in Japanese sociolinguistics) or JAL4590 (Advanced studies in Japanese linguistics) or permission of instructor

Objectives Students in this subject should develop familiarity with a number of topics pertaining to Japanese linguistics.

Synopsis This subject covers a selection of topics from Japanese linguistics, such as phonology, syntax, lexicon or the writing system.

Assessment (8 points) Research project (3500 words): 60%
* Essay (2500 words): 40%

Assessment (12 points) Research project (5000 words): 60%
* Essay (4000 words): 40%
