Objectives At the end of this subject studetns should have developed an understanding of the concerns and basic methods upon which the social sciences are built. The unit will allow students to assess environmental issues for their social science contexts, implications and opportunities. It will not, in itself, enable students to apply social scientific tools.
Synopsis Provides an introduction to the concerns and methods of social science and to the practical use of the social sciences in their associated professions. The development and maintenance of these professions as understood by social science itself forms part of this course. Further details to be advised.
Assessment Essay (3000 words): 50%
