Upon successful completion of this course, students should have demonstrated their ability to critically analyse a range of secondary and primary texts across the humanities disciplines which contribute to American Studies; have read widely and independently in the areas they have selected for close study, and developed conceptual skills appropriate to the methodology of their study and developed an awareness of the different disciplinary perspectives which constitute American Studies.
