In the last two years the faculty has held an induction session in April designed largely for new graduate research students. Topics covered in 1996 included human ethics and research, postgraduate supervision - where both the responsibilities of the supervisor and those of the student were discussed - thesis and research paper writing and the services offered by the Monash Postgraduate Association. A `Research induction handbook', which is available from the graduate studies office, was offered to all participants at the induction session.
