Objectives By completion of this subject students are expected tp have demonstrated an understanding of the principles of photographic processes such as exposure and development for both black and white film and papers, which will lead to the production of a folio of photographs; and an awareness of photography as a medium which can be used in the creation of fine art, documentary photography or photojournalism and development of the skills necessary to produce images.
Synopsis This subject introduces students to the range of techniques approaches available to the artist/photographer. Comprising of a schedule of lectures, practical demonstrations and individual experimentation, the subject aims to familiarise students with basic black and white photographic techniques
Assessment Artistic and conceptual development: 45% * Technical achievement: 45% * Contribution to critiques: 10%
