Materials research and technology (clay)

Objectives On successful completion of this subject students should be able to measure and record data using equipment pertinent to the ceramics industry; interpret and present test data; perceive problems, formulate and test hypotheses and present conclusions; recognise the technical requirements for utilising ceramic materials in a multi-media context.
Synopsis This subject will develop further the knowledge of ceramic materials and processes gained in CER1310. Students will receive theoretical and practical instruction via lectures and structured laboratory research assignments.
Assessment Examination: 60% * Four laboratory research reports: 40%
