Doctor of Philosophy

The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is undertaken by thesis. The research program in Art and Design is one that specifically derives from the production of creative work(s)/design(s) and is examined by thesis. Students may enrol as full-time or part-time candidates. At present, the normal duration for an honours graduate is approximately four years full-time study. Applicants are required to have qualified for an honours degree (upper level) or a masters degree and preferably be able to demonstrate attainment as practising artist, craftsperson or designer. The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is the responsibility of the university's PhD Committee.
