CFT6100

Studio practice

Objectives On successful completion of this subject, the student will have developed the skills necessary for devising a contract stipulating work to be undertaken by the student himself or herself; the skills necessary in organising the specific work in the promised time; a self-critical awareness of the work which is achieved and a communicative faculty in persuading the supervisor and, ultimately, the examiners that the contract has been fulfilled.

Synopsis The student makes a proposal to the supervisor, effectively `selling' him or her idea for work to be created in the medium in which the student already has extensive expertise. Upon agreeing to the proposal, a contract is drawn up by the student and progress is checked at regular intervals by the supervisor.
